Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 28-32 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
